Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Do I still need to file U.S. taxes if I live abroad?

Yes. U.S. citizens and Green Card holders are required to file a U.S. tax return annually—regardless of where they live. We also support Americans residing in the U.S., as well as non-residents with U.S.-sourced income. Depending on your situation, exclusions and credits may significantly reduce your tax liability.

What happens if I haven’t filed for a few years?

Don’t worry—many clients come to us behind on their filings. If eligible, we’ll help you catch up through the IRS Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures, avoiding penalties and restoring compliance.

How long does the tax filing process take?

Most returns are completed within 10–15 business days once we receive your documents and completed organizer. Complex filings may take longer, but we always provide a clear timeline from the start.

Do you only work with expats?

No—we serve Americans living abroad, non-residents with U.S. income, and U.S.-based clients who want expert, personalized tax guidance. While we specialize in expat tax, our expertise spans a wide range of U.S. tax needs.

Are your services available year-round?

Yes. Our globally distributed team supports clients across all time zones—365 days a year. We’re always here when you need us.

What types of tax returns and forms do you prepare?

We handle all U.S. expat and non-resident filings—including Federal, State, amended returns, 1040-NR, FBAR/FATCA, and specialty forms like 5471 (foreign corporations), 8621 (PFICs), 8858 (FDEs), 8992 (GILTI), 3520/3520-A (foreign trusts), and more.

Do you offer business tax services for expat entrepreneurs?

Yes. We prepare U.S. business returns (1120, 1120S, 1065) and international disclosures for foreign corporations, partnerships, and disregarded entities. We also assist with GILTI planning and strategic entity structuring.

How much does it cost to file a return?

A standard Federal Tax Return starts at $395. FBAR filing is a flat $110. Additional forms (like 5471, 8621, or 3520) carry separate flat fees based on complexity. View our full pricing here.

How do I know what my final fee will be?

After you submit your documents, we’ll send a custom quote detailing each service and fee—so there are never any surprises.

Do you charge for consultations?

Yes. Consultations start at $260 per half hour, covering tax planning, projections, entity structuring, and IRS letter reviews.
